“I Only Listen To Einsturzende Neubauten” Tee PREORDER TIL 1/14/25
So, a buddy of mine (let's call him John, since that's what his name is, and it feels rude to do otherwise) really… REALLY likes The Mountain Goats.
Like, more than a person should. Not that I judge.
John came into my shop one day with a shirt that said "I Only Listen To The Mountain Goats", which I understand is a common gag amongst fans of that group. Hell, maybe they're serious?
I thought it would be funny to make a shirt that had the same phrase, but for MY favorite band, Einsturzende Neubauten.
I immediately set my good friend and graphic design pal, Eric Wilson (of Doublethink Merch) on the task of making a design that harkened back to the Halber Mench era, including glomming together the appropriate font. We even tried it in German, but it didn't look quite right, so we stuck with the English translation.
I had a single copy made as a prototype and then never moved forward with making it in earnest.
Due to a weird little thread on /r/cassette culture I decided to say "Eh, why not?" And offer them up for preorder here.
Preorders will be active until 1/14/25. I'll have to make at least 25, so assuming we get enough orders to cover our costs, we may have a few left available once they arrive.
These will be printed on black Gildan 5000 tees, with a high quality printing process known as Discharge. This process replaces the ink in the original shirt, and will assure a clean, vibrant print for literally decades. Once washed, the printing should not be feelable at all, unlike Plastisol, which basically prints plastic onto a shirt that then cracks with age and repeated washings.
If you really, REALLY want Comfort Colors, feel free to send me a note, and I'll add an option. They are probably $5 more per unit, so the choice in Gildan is to keep it as economical as possible, but hey, go crazy man. It's a capitalist hellscape. We are just living in it.
Orders should be ready to ship within 6 weeks of the end of the preorder. Any additional units will be available for sake here and in our brick and mortar store until they are gone. Once they are gone, they are gone.
